Careers for the Future

Avila College’s Year 9 students have been preparing for their future careers with an intensive program designed by the Careers team.

Topics covered include Community Service, Staying safe in the workplace in accordance with the Child Safety Framework, the Australian Qualification Framework  and the MyFuture website.

Students worked towards their Occupational Health and Safety certificates and visited Holmesglen TAFE for a tour and information sessions about programs, pathways and a range of vocational options including Business and Finance, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Information and Technology and Trades.

As part of the Careers initiative, students also participated in the Start Smart program, an interactive money management workshop designed to build confidence and competence to make smart decisions about money.
