Opening of School Year Eucharist

The Opening of School Year Eucharist was celebrated at Avila College on 13 February. The whole community joined together to pray for another year of blessings. The 2014 student leaders were inducted and we were privledged to be joined by many students from last years leadership group. Father Elio celebrated the Mass and during his Homily he reflected on the students theme for the year which is ‘Give over Get’. He encouraged the congregation to be ever mindful of the value of selflessness and to appreciate the difference we can all make in another persons life, especially if they are going through a difficult time.  After Mass guests enjoyed a special Morning Tea to celebrate the Opening of the school year.
