SCSA Basketball Success

Three Avila College basketball teams competed recently at MSAC in the SCSA competition. 

Each team had spent many hours training and preparing for the tournament with their coaches. The Junior Team coached by Mr Whiston played very well and finished the day in 6th position. The Intermediate Team coached by Ms Bauman, started the day with an amazing win against Mount St Joseph’s. Teamwork was a feature of the Avila girls play. They faced some very stiff competition and finished in 5th place.  

The Senior Team (pictured), coached by Miss Vining played tirelessly all day and made it to the Grand Final which was a fantastic achievement. After a hard fought game they were declared the Champions. Congratulations to Yasmine Cook for who was awarded MVP in the final. The win by the Senior Team has provided inspiration for all other Avila teams to work even harder to achieve their dreams in future competitions.
