The City as a Classroom – Year 8

This week the city became the classroom for our Year 8 students as they explore what it means to be a Melbournian. Research includes visits to the Shrine, Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and the Chinese Australian Museum. Students have also been visiting places of cultural significance such as the MCG, NGV and Royal Botanical Garden together with a workshop at the Big Issue and a discovery tour behind the scenes of the Queen Vic Market.

Working collaboratively and developing their critical thinking and problem solving skills, Year 8 students have been working in teams on their Inquiry Project, while also gaining confidence to navigate the city streets and laneways. The project will culminate in a formal presentation and Expo.
